About the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland
The mission of the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland is to partner with the City to establish premier parks, facilities, and programs in Pearland.
The Foundation is made up of a group of community volunteers who are passionate about Pearland parks. The Foundation works with the Pearland Parks and Recreation Department to support a shared vision of enriching lives in the community through development of and accessibility to parks and recreation.
The organization builds relationships with community partners, sponsors, donors, and volunteers to raise funds dedicated to sustaining and enhancing parks and recreation facilities and programs, and to provide transformational recreational opportunities to the Pearland community.
The Foundation supports so many programs and special projects in Pearland, which include:
- A financial assistance program, which provides funding for families in need to take advantage of more parks and recreation programming
- The Independence Park Tunnel Mural, which was supported by the Pearland Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Cultural Arts Grant program.
- The Educational Nature Pond at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center
- The community’s Inclusive Playground, which is set to open in 2022 at Shadow Creek Ranch Sports Complex, which will provide equal opportunity for play and recreation for all children regardless of their developmental or mobility needs.
